Beachwood Villa pool terrace at golden hour with palm trees, sun loungers, and a peaceful sunset atmosphere — ideal for a retirement trip in Providenciales Turks and Caicos
Why Beachwood

A trip that earns the year that earned it

The retirement trip is its own category. Different from an anniversary, different from a regular vacation. It marks something — the end of forty years of working, the beginning of whatever comes next. It deserves more thought than the average week away.

Beachwood is built for exactly this kind of stay. A private villa with the comfort and service of a five-star hotel, but the privacy and pace of your own home. Stay for ten nights. Stay for fourteen. Stay long enough to actually decompress from a working life.

Bring the family. Beachwood sleeps 8, so the kids and grandkids can join for part of the trip — and the four ensuite bedrooms mean everyone has their own space. Or come as just the two of you, and let the unused rooms become a reading room, a yoga space, or simply rooms you don't enter. The villa serves whatever the trip needs.

What's Included

A complete experience

i.

Built for longer stays

Most retirement-trip guests stay 10-14 nights — long enough to actually unwind, but not so long that you outstay yourself. Daily housekeeping, weekly grocery restocking, and concierge planning support throughout.

ii.

Bring the family — or not

Sleeps 8 across four ensuite bedrooms. The kids and grandkids can join for the first or last weekend. Or you can have it all to yourselves. Both work beautifully.

iii.

Private chef, on your schedule

Some nights the chef comes. Some nights you eat at Coco Bistro or Bay Bistro. Some nights it's a simple home dinner you make together. The flexibility a long stay deserves.

iv.

In-villa spa & wellness

Massage at the villa, yoga on the terrace, facial in your bedroom. Concierge-arranged practitioners come to you. Wellness without the hotel hallway.

v.

Adventure when you want it

Private boat charters, snorkeling, the Bight Reef, golf at Provo Golf Club, sunset sailing — pick the days you want activity, leave the others for the pool and the books you've been meaning to read.

vi.

The whole island, on your terms

Provo is an island that rewards exploration but doesn't demand it. Restaurants, beaches, art galleries, the historical sites at Cheshire Hall — all within 15 minutes. Or stay at the villa all week. Both are right answers.

A Sample Stay

Twelve days, marking the moment

Days 1-3

The reset

The first three days are about decompression. Pool, slow meals, early sleeps. The kind of recalibration that takes longer than a weekend. By day three you feel different.

Days 4-5

The water

A private catamaran charter on day four. The Bight Reef snorkel on day five. Days that remind you why you booked the Caribbean.

Days 6-7

The kids arrive

If they're joining: pickups from the airport, the welcome dinner on the terrace, the kids in the pool with the grandkids, the multi-generational dinner everyone will remember.

Day 8

Family adventure

Boat day with the family. Or beach day. Or simply a long lunch on the terrace and an afternoon by the pool. The family time you've been planning.

Days 9-10

Family last days

The kids' last full days. Group photos at sunset. The dinner with grandkids. The send-off.

Days 11-12

Back to just the two of you

The villa quiet again. A massage in the morning. A long lunch. The fire pit at sunset. The recognition that this was the trip you'd been working toward.

Common Questions

Things to know

How long should a retirement trip at Beachwood be?

Most retirement guests stay 10-14 nights — long enough to actually decompress and explore the island, but not so long that you outstay yourself. Some stay even longer (3-4 weeks) for what we call a 'soft retirement' trip — a true extended stay where you live in the villa and explore Provo as a part-time home.

Can our adult kids and grandkids join part of the trip?

Absolutely — and many of our retirement-trip guests structure it exactly this way. The four ensuite bedrooms accommodate up to 8 guests, so you can have the family join for a long weekend in the middle of your stay, then return to just-the-two-of-you mode. We arrange separate airport transfers and grocery restocking for the family arrival.

What's the best time of year for a retirement trip?

December through April is peak season with the most reliable weather. November and May are excellent shoulder months with lower rates. Many retirement-trip guests come in late January through March, when home is at its coldest and the Caribbean is at its best.

Are there good medical facilities nearby in case we need them?

Yes — Cheshire Hall Medical Centre in Providenciales is the main hospital, 5 minutes from Beachwood. There are also several private clinics on the island. Most pharmacies stock standard medications. We recommend travel insurance with medical coverage for any extended trip, regardless of age.

Is the villa accessible for guests with limited mobility?

The main living areas are single-level (no stairs to access bedrooms, kitchen, dining, pool). Walking distances within the villa are short. The walk down to Babalua Beach involves a moderate slope — for guests who'd prefer not to walk, our concierge can arrange a private driver to drop you and pick you up at the beach. Tell us your specific needs and we'll plan accordingly.

Can you help us plan island excursions tailored to our pace?

Yes — this is one of our most-requested concierge services for retirement-trip guests. Slower-paced boat charters (sailing rather than racing), guided snorkeling at calmer reefs, private driver for restaurant nights, sunset cruises rather than party cruises. We tailor the week to your pace, not a generic adventure schedule.
