Beachwood Villa pool terrace at golden hour, ideal for an intimate elopement ceremony in Providenciales Turks and Caicos
Why Elope at Beachwood

A wedding that fits
in the photo album

Most weddings get bigger than the couple actually wanted. The list grows. The plus-ones multiply. The day stops being about the two of you and starts being about logistics for everyone else.

Elopement is the alternative. Ten guests, total. The people who actually matter. A ceremony on the terrace at sunset, or down at Babalua Beach. A celebration dinner with a private chef at the long oak table. The wedding day you'd photograph for the rest of your life.

Beachwood accommodates intimate elopements up to 10 guests. The villa sleeps 8 overnight, with up to 10 accommodated at additional cost when arranged in advance — additional guests beyond that stay at nearby properties (we can recommend options). To respect the neighbourhood, we don't permit DJs, amplified music, or events past 10pm. Larger weddings are not the right fit for this property — but if "small and meaningful" is what you came for, we're built for it.

Two Settings

The terrace, or the beach

Beachwood Villa pool terrace at sunset for elopement ceremony

The terrace at sunset

Ocean as backdrop. Palms overhead. Privacy guaranteed.

The most popular elopement setting at Beachwood. The pool terrace faces west and gets the golden-hour light from about an hour before sunset. Ten chairs, a simple aisle, the ocean behind you. The ceremony lasts twenty minutes; the photographs last forever.

Babalua Beach near Beachwood Villa, ideal for an intimate beach elopement

Down at Babalua Beach

A short walk from the villa. Sand underfoot. Sea turtles often.

For couples who want their feet in the sand. Babalua is a five-minute walk from the villa — quiet, less crowded than Grace Bay, with the kind of turquoise water and white sand the photographs need. The ceremony works best in the morning (light is softer) or about an hour before sunset.

A Sample Day

What an elopement day looks like

Morning

Slow start, getting ready

The two of you wake up in the master suite with the ocean view. Coffee on the terrace. The hairstylist and makeup artist arrive at the villa around 10am — getting ready in your own home, not a hotel suite. Guests gather slowly through the morning.

Afternoon

The setup

Our concierge team handles the ceremony setup while you're getting ready — chairs arranged, flowers placed, the aisle marked. The officiant arrives an hour before the ceremony to walk through the order. The photographer arrives at the same time to capture the pre-ceremony moments.

Golden hour

The ceremony

Twenty minutes on the terrace at sunset. Vows you wrote, or the traditional ones. Your guests in ten chairs. The officiant says you may kiss; everyone applauds; the photographer captures the moment. You're married.

Evening

The celebration dinner

The long oak terrace dining table set for ten. A private chef has been preparing your menu since the afternoon. Champagne, courses, toasts that go on too long, the cake at the end. The kind of dinner you actually remember from your wedding because you're still seated when it ends.

Late evening

The fire pit

The night ends at the fire pit on the terrace. Guests still up, drinks in hand, the conversations slowing into the kind of laughter wedding nights end with. By 10pm the music settles down (we ask guests to keep things acoustic and quiet to respect the neighbors). By midnight the villa is yours alone.

The Practical Side

What you actually need to know

The marriage license

Apply through the Turks and Caicos Registrar General's office. You must be on-island at least 24 hours before applying. Bring passports, birth certificates, and divorce decrees or death certificates if applicable. Our concierge can recommend a marriage planner who handles the paperwork end-to-end.

Plan extra arrival days

Plan to arrive 3–4 days before the ceremony. This gives time for the marriage license to be processed and ensures you're not rushing on wedding day. Most couples spend the days before the ceremony settling into the villa, having a rehearsal dinner, and welcoming guests as they arrive.

Guest accommodation

The villa sleeps 8 overnight. For larger groups, we can recommend nearby properties for additional guests, who can attend ceremony day and join the celebration dinner. Our concierge handles the coordination.

Quiet hours

Beachwood is in a quiet residential neighborhood. We don't permit amplified music (DJ setups, sound systems, live bands) or events past 10pm. Acoustic music — guitar, piano, harp — is warmly welcomed for the ceremony and dinner.

Lead time

For a Beachwood elopement, plan at least 3 months ahead. For peak season (December–April), book 4–6 months ahead. The right photographer, officiant, and chef get booked early.

What's not the right fit

If you're imagining a 50-guest wedding with a band and a dance floor, Beachwood isn't the right venue and we can refer you to others. If you want ten people who matter at the most beautiful sunset of your life — we're built for exactly that.

Common Questions

Things to know

Can we elope at Beachwood Villa?

Yes — Beachwood accommodates intimate elopements of up to 10 guests, including the couple. We ask that all events remain quiet to respect our neighbours — no DJs or amplified music. Please coordinate with our concierge ahead of time. Our concierge can arrange the officiant, marriage license logistics, photography, private chef for the celebration meal, decor, and flowers. Larger weddings, late-night events, and amplified sound are not permitted under the villa's house rules.

What is required to legally marry in Turks and Caicos?

Couples must apply for a marriage license through the Registrar General's office in Turks and Caicos. You must be on-island for at least 24 hours before applying. Required documents include passports, birth certificates, and (if applicable) divorce decrees or death certificates. Our concierge can guide you through the process and recommend a marriage planner who handles the paperwork. Plan to arrive 3–4 days before your ceremony to ensure all paperwork is processed.

How many guests can attend?

Up to 10 guests total, including the couple. This includes the bride, groom, witnesses, immediate family, and close friends. The villa sleeps 8 overnight; we can accommodate up to 10 with additional cost when arranged in advance. Guests beyond 10 would need to stay at nearby properties (our concierge can recommend options).

Where on the property does the ceremony take place?

Most elopements at Beachwood take place either on the pool terrace at sunset (with the ocean as backdrop) or down at Babalua Beach (a 5-minute walk away). Our concierge can help you decide based on time of year, time of day, and the kind of photographs you'd want.

How far in advance should we plan?

We recommend planning at least 3 months in advance for a Beachwood elopement. This gives time to coordinate the marriage license process, secure the right officiant and photographer, and book the villa for the dates that work for you. For peak season (December through April), book 4–6 months out.

Are there restrictions on amplified music or late-night events?

To respect the quiet residential character of the neighborhood, amplified music (DJ setups, sound systems, live bands) and events extending past 10pm are not permitted. Acoustic music (guitar, piano, harp) and earlier evening celebrations are warmly welcomed. Our concierge can suggest beautiful options that work within these guidelines.
