There are restaurants you go to for the food, and restaurants you go to for the evening. Our dinner at Lua Beach House was firmly the latter — a long, golden-hour meal beside the lagoon at South Bank, on the Long Bay side of Providenciales, about a fifteen-minute drive from the villa.
Lua was named Restaurant of the Year for 2025 in Turks and Caicos, and it is easy to see why.
The setting
The restaurant sits beside the island's first seawater swimming lagoon — a calm, glassy stretch of water with small lounging islands set into it. We arrived before sunset, which is the move: the light comes down gold across the lagoon, the water goes still, and the whole place softens. By the time dessert arrived it was dark and lit by candles. It is, unapologetically, a date-night restaurant.
The food
The cooking is global, seafood-forward, with Mediterranean and Asian threads running through it. We started with a snapper ceviche, bright with citrus, then a crisp-skinned fish over ratatouille-style vegetables and a lamb dish with couscous. The wood-fired pizzas are a thing here too — Friday is pizza night on the deck, with lobster and truffle versions worth the detour. And the South Bank chocolate soufflé, served with ice cream and crème anglaise, is the dessert to end on.
How to do it
Book a table for an hour before sunset and let the evening unfold. It is a special-occasion place — an anniversary, a milestone, or simply a night that deserves the effort. Dress is resort-smart. And since it's a fifteen-minute drive on the south side, it pairs naturally with a slow afternoon at Long Bay beforehand.
Ask our concierge to book the table and arrange a car both ways, so the evening is entirely yours. Time the reservation for golden hour — it is the whole point.
